Hims & Hers, a leading health and wellness platform and NYSE-traded public company, is seeking a Compounding Lab Manager to oversee daily operations within its compounding pharmacy labs in New Albany, Ohio.
Reporting to the Head Compounding Pharmacist, you will manage all compounding lab activities from setup through production and equipment cleaning. You will directly supervise compounding technicians and lab assistants, support them in producing compounds across all labs, and troubleshoot issues while maintaining quality standards. Your responsibilities include:
- Direct management of all compounding lab activities and personnel
- Direct supervision of compounding technicians and lab assistants
- Support for technicians in compound production, troubleshooting, and quality assurance
- Maintenance of safety-first practices with hazardous chemicals in accordance with USP <800> and applicable regulations
- Ensuring critical workflows and quality checks are completed daily for all compounds
- Staffing non-sterile laboratories with high competency
- Planning, organizing, and directing compounding initiatives and rollouts
- Creating project plans for new compounding initiatives
- Coordinating with the pharmacy technician manager on personnel development and labor planning
- Developing training materials and knowledge assessment verifications
- Maintaining study protocols and data for non-sterile compounded products
- Reviewing, revising, and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Understanding pharmacy standards of practice
The role requires working with hazardous drugs and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, respiratory protection, gown, and other items as required. Medical approval is required to wear respiratory protection. Physical exertion is significant: walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100%, squatting and bending up to 20%, and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to 12-hour shifts, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You must be willing to confirm understanding of potential reproductive risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity, reproductive effects) when handling hazardous drugs.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification in Ohio (required)
- Familiarity with USP chapters 795 and 800 (required)
- Experience working in a compounding pharmacy (required)
- Familiarity with Computer Rx pharmacy software
- Familiarity with pharmacy and compounding SOPs
- Ability to teach and train pharmacy staff
- Fluency in pharmacy operating systems
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Clear, professional, and effective communication with staff and management
- Inventory management and ability to independently lead projects
- Software training and support capabilities
