Salary: USD 252,000 - 347,000 / annual
Okta is seeking a Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering to lead a team of Solutions Engineers focused on State, Local, and Higher Education (SLED) accounts across the US. Reporting to the Director of Solutions Engineering for Public Sector Accounts, you will manage a team responsible for advising customers on Okta's Identity Platform capabilities and driving technical evaluations, demonstrations, and proof-of-value engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Solutions Engineers, creating professional growth plans and mentoring diverse talent
- Own business impact reporting for your team's work with prospects evaluating the Okta identity platform, including demonstrations, technical deep dives, trials, and POV evaluations
- Actively participate in deal strategy and on-site deal support to ensure opportunity success
- Collaborate with Pre-Sales teams and business units across Okta to foster a strong team culture
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor Solutions Engineers from diverse backgrounds
You will combine technical expertise with business acumen to translate market opportunities into breakthrough strategies. You are results-focused, partner closely with Sales leadership to execute growth plans, and have a vision for how customers will leverage Okta solutions to drive business outcomes.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of Pre-Sales experience with 4+ years of managerial/leadership experience
- Demonstrated success selling to US Public Sector agencies (SLED preferred, or Federal)
- Ability to influence technical decision makers and executives; experience as an executive sponsor
- Proficiency with MEDDPICC and Value/Outcome-based selling methodologies
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in security product market trends and directional awareness of Okta's roadmap
- Knowledge of Okta platform and competitor product offerings
- Competency with security concepts and enterprise security software (firewalls, proxies, VPN, CASB, databases, applications)
