Oura is seeking a Senior Manager, Process Engineering to lead a team of process engineers driving process development, qualification, industrialization, and continuous improvement for its award-winning hardware products (Oura Ring and connected app).
You will combine deep hands-on expertise in miniature electronics assembly—including gluing, fixturing, automation, and process validation—with strong people leadership. Your responsibilities include leading and developing a team of process engineers, setting priorities and performance expectations, and defining the process engineering roadmap across new and sustaining programs aligned with manufacturing readiness.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead process development, validation, and design transfer from EVT/DVT through PVT and mass production ramp
- Drive Design for Manufacturability/Assembly collaboration with mechanical, electrical, product, quality, and operations teams
- Lead complex troubleshooting and failure analysis using DOE, SPC, 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa methodologies
- Own process engineering's contribution to NPI builds, including readiness reviews, line preparation, and action item closure
- Ensure successful factory ramp-up through readiness planning, process capability development, and issue recovery
- Establish process capability and measurement discipline (Cp/Cpk, GR&R, MSA) and maintain core documentation (PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions)
- Drive yield improvement and operational efficiency by prioritizing high-impact issues
- Build strong relationships with global factory partners and suppliers, communicating process readiness and risks to senior stakeholders
Ideal candidates bring 8–12+ years in manufacturing/process engineering with meaningful leadership experience, proven consumer electronics manufacturing expertise with miniature assemblies, deep hands-on process development and validation skills, strong root-cause analysis and CAPA track records, and the ability to influence across engineering, operations, quality, and external partners. Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related field required. Willingness to travel to development sites, factories, and suppliers is essential.
