Salary: USD 131,000 - 164,000 / annual
Diligent is seeking a Senior Manager of Platform Engineering to lead the team responsible for the company's Atlassian and Microsoft platforms while setting architectural direction for the internal IT estate. This role combines people leadership, enterprise platform strategy, and hands-on technical judgment to create secure, reliable, and scalable experiences for employees worldwide.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and growing a global team of platform engineers and systems administrators to build a high-performing, inclusive culture
- Owning strategy, architecture, governance, and roadmap for Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Atlassian Guard, Rovo)
- Setting direction for Microsoft 365 E5 estate (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, Intune, Defender, Purview, Power Platform, Copilot)
- Designing scalable integration and automation patterns across identity, HRIS, ITSM, and business systems using APIs, event-driven automation, Okta Workflows, Power Platform, and scripting
- Partnering with IT Support to improve self-service capabilities, automate repetitive work, and reduce ticket volume and resolution time
- Establishing strong standards for security, access governance, AI adoption, reliability, compliance, and business continuity
Required qualifications:
- Significant experience in internal IT, platform engineering, or enterprise applications, including leading technical teams in distributed organizations
- Deep hands-on experience owning Atlassian Cloud at enterprise scale (Jira, JSM, Confluence)
- Strong experience administering and governing Microsoft 365 E5
- Ability to set architecture direction across identity and cloud technologies with knowledge of Okta/SSO, Active Directory, Entra ID, and AWS
- Proven success applying ITIL-aligned service management and automation
- Strong understanding of identity and access governance, least privilege, data loss prevention, and audit requirements
- Track record of developing engineers, influencing cross-functional partners, and communicating technical decisions clearly
Desirable experience includes Microsoft Copilot and Atlassian Rovo deployment, infrastructure-as-code tools (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, CloudFormation), platform migrations, HRIS provisioning, and regulated environments (ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP).
