Shield AI, a venture-backed defense-tech company, is seeking a Senior Manager of Materials Planning & Logistics to lead supply chain and manufacturing operations for next-generation autonomous aircraft development programs and a new greenfield manufacturing facility.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end materials planning, production control, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics strategy. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Program Management, Procurement, Quality, and Operations teams to develop accurate build plans aligned with program milestones and support rapid product development and new product introduction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing materials planning, production control, inventory, warehousing, and logistics strategies
- Developing and maintaining accurate build plans in coordination with Engineering and Program Management
- Defining and monitoring KPIs for schedule attainment, material availability, shortage reduction, inventory health, work-order execution, and planning accuracy
- Identifying long-lead material risks and implementing mitigation strategies to protect program schedules
- Overseeing material recovery plan development and execution
- Driving engineering change management processes to support rapid development and ECO implementation
- Building manufacturing and supply chain capabilities from the ground up to support transition to scalable rate production
The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership with hands-on execution capability, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has proven experience building manufacturing and supply chain functions from inception. You will be accountable for establishing the people, processes, systems, and infrastructure required to support Shield AI's ambitious autonomous aircraft programs across multiple facilities worldwide.
