Salary: USD 180,000 - 230,000 / annual
Anthro is seeking a Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to lead the manufacturing engineering function for advanced battery technologies, including novel phase change electrolytes and cell manufacturing. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will own equipment, tooling, and production processes while growing the engineering team. You'll personally contribute to scaling manufacturing lines from bench to pilot to commercial scale.
Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring a team of manufacturing and process engineers; owning the manufacturing process, equipment, and tooling design for electrolyte production and cell manufacturing; establishing preventive and predictive maintenance programs (TPM, CMMS, spare-parts strategy) to maximize uptime and first-time quality; driving process and equipment optimization for core cell-finishing steps including electrolyte filling and formation to improve yield and reduce cycle time; applying data-driven methods (SPC, DOE, PFMEA, control plans) and lean continuous-improvement practices to hit yield, throughput, OEE, and cost targets; leading future production line expansions by specifying equipment, managing vendor relationships, and driving commissioning and ramp to stable operation; owning factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) and equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ); leading industrialization and technology transfer with robust documentation and quality management systems; conducting process safety reviews (HAZOP) to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements; and reporting progress to leadership stakeholders.
You'll partner closely with R&D, equipment suppliers, and external partners to industrialize processes from the Alameda pilot facility through to the planned commercial facility in Kentucky. The role is expected to grow as the company scales, with increasing scope and complexity.
