Stepful is a workforce platform training healthcare workers for America's largest health systems. Since 2021, Stepful has trained over 32,000 practice-ready healthcare professionals and partners with half of the top 10 US health systems. Backed by Y Combinator and Reach Capital with a recent $55M Series C, Stepful was named the #1 EdTech company in the US by TIME for 2025.
You will own the teaching excellence bar and instructor experience across Stepful's growing network of faculty delivering Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Tech, Patient Care Tech, and entry-level healthcare certificate programs. This role is critical as Stepful scales—instruction quality and consistency are primary levers for student success.
You'll lead a small, high-impact team: a Cohort Logistics Manager and 2–3 Instructor Quality Specialists report directly to you. You'll also serve as the organizational lead for Stepful's faculty network, the front line of student experience.
Key responsibilities include: defining what great instruction looks like at Stepful and building coaching rubrics and cadences; building and motivating a thriving instructor community with virtual spaces for connection and recognition; developing self-serve dashboards giving instructors real-time visibility into classroom impact (pass rates, engagement, cohort progress); running recognition programs and feedback loops; managing your direct reports and maintaining a real-time view of instructor health across the network (tenure, performance, risk); partnering with curriculum teams to ensure effective classroom delivery and flagging real-world gaps; using student outcome data as a quality signal; experimenting with AI-enabled coaching tools; and collaborating cross-functionally on program modifications and new launches.
You bring 5+ years in instructional quality, curriculum, or education operations; experience managing large teams or contractor/adjunct networks; a background as a teacher; proven ability to build systems from scratch (observation rubrics, coaching workflows, performance tracking) and drive adoption; comfort operating independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments; and strong communication and coaching skills. Bonus experience includes healthcare education (allied health, clinical training, nursing), early-stage or Series A–C startup background, and LMS platform fluency.
