Salary: USD 139,000 - 202,000 / annual

The Implementations and Onboarding team is responsible for understanding customer relationships and desired outcomes from the sales process, building launch plans for success, and helping customers maximize value from 1Password's product suite. This Senior Manager role is a director-level position with expanded scope and influence over team strategy, execution standards, capacity planning, and cross-functional alignment. You will operate as a senior people leader, organizational architect, and strategic partner to cross-functional leaders. Key responsibilities include: **Leadership & Team Development:** - Build, scale, and lead multi-layered, high-performing technical onboarding teams - Lead through organizational change, driving adoption of new roles, processes, and tools - Manage managers and senior individual contributors, including succession planning and leadership development - Set and reinforce clear standards for technical excellence, customer engagement quality, and accountability - Design organizational structures, clarify roles, and plan capacity across multiple teams - Serve as a senior escalation point for complex customer and organizational challenges **Strategy, Execution & Outcomes:** - Define and evolve engagement models, processes, and playbooks for technical implementation and deployment - Ensure consistent, high-quality technical engagement across all customer segments - Align resources, skills, and priorities to customer needs and business goals - Provide leadership with visibility into customer health, adoption trends, and risks - Deliver insights and recommendations that influence strategy and investment decisions **Technical & Data Acumen:** - Provide technical credibility to guide, challenge, and mentor senior technical professionals - Understand SSO, SCIM, directory services (AD, Okta, Azure AD), APIs, CLI tools, and SaaS architectures - Make strategic, data-informed decisions to identify trends, risks, and opportunities at scale - Translate technical and customer signals into organizational strategy and roadmap feedback - Define success metrics and operating rhythms for technical deployment teams **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** - Partner closely with senior leaders in Customer Success, Sales, Support, and Product - Align stakeholders across functions and levels, including executive audiences - Act as a senior escalation point for high-impact, high-risk, or complex customer situations - Champion enablement, documentation, and shared learning across teams This is a player-coach role requiring both senior people leadership and hands-on involvement in complex implementations. You will shape how technical implementation and deployment scales, ensure consistency and quality across teams, and directly influence retention, expansion readiness, and customer trust. The role requires adaptability, systems thinking, strong executive presence, and a high bar for talent development. Note: All go-to-market roles require in-person onboarding in Toronto. Leadership roles can expect to travel approximately once per month on average for department offsites, quarterly meetings, and customer events across Canada, USA, and EMEA. **Requirements:** - 8+ years of experience in post-sale SaaS roles such as Implementation, Professional Services, or Solutions Engineering - 4+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated progression to managing managers and/or multiple distinct technical functions - Proven experience leading both individual contributor technical teams and specialized technical roles (e.g., Professional Services or Technical Account Managers) - Track record of successfully supporting customers across segments in complex, security-focused technical environments - Experience implementing repeatable service delivery models - Experience influencing and improving the full customer lifecycle, including sales handoff, onboarding, adoption, renewal, and expansion motions - Strong familiarity with security, identity, or IT administration domains strongly preferred - Bonus: Hands-on experience with 1Password or another password manager - Demonstrated ability to build and scale high-performing technical teams - Experience managing through organizational change and driving adoption of new processes and tools - Strong technical foundation with credibility to guide senior technical professionals - Understanding of technologies such as SSO, SCIM, directory services, APIs, CLI tools, and SaaS architectures - Ability to troubleshoot integrations, APIs, or automation workflows - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong executive presence - Customer-centric leader focused on value realization and scalable outcomes - Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity through influence
