Salary: USD 156,000 - 290,000 / annual
Nutanix is seeking a Senior Manager of Commodity Management to lead the Supply Base team and drive global commodity strategies for server and storage product components. You will manage a $500M–$1B expenditure portfolio, overseeing CPU, memory, SSD, HDD, and NIC technologies. This role requires deep technical expertise in server architecture and a proven track record managing complex, cross-border supply chains.
You will report to the Senior Director of Life Cycle Management and Supply Base Management, leading a dedicated Commodity Management Team. Key responsibilities include defining and executing technology roadmaps for critical components, optimizing product costs through strategic sourcing and value engineering, and managing supplier relationships at the executive level. You will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Finance to align commodity strategies with corporate priorities.
Your scope includes managing RFI/RFQ processes to select suppliers that meet technology, cost, volume, quality, lead-time, and supply chain robustness targets. You will drive risk mitigation strategies, ensure compliance with Nutanix standards, and monitor new product introduction (NPI) execution. The role demands subject matter expertise in server/storage architecture, geopolitical and supply chain risk management, and the ability to negotiate forward-looking cost strategies with key suppliers.
Required qualifications: BA/BS or equivalent plus 10+ years manufacturing experience with 6+ years in management. Technical or MS degree preferred. Expert-level knowledge of server/storage architecture, CPU/memory/SSD/HDD technologies, and proven success meeting cost reduction and NPI targets. Experience with multi-sourcing strategies, value engineering, and managing cross-border supply chain risks is essential. The role involves travel 2x per year internationally. Remote for zones 2-4 (US-based).
