Salary: USD 124,000 - 177,000 / annual
Relay Therapeutics, a clinical-stage precision medicines company, seeks a Senior Manager of Clinical Business Operations to oversee vendor management, contracts, budgets, and performance metrics for clinical development activities. This role bridges clinical study teams and external vendors, ensuring accountability and service level compliance.
Key responsibilities include identifying and contracting with clinical vendors; managing RFP and vendor selection processes; negotiating and executing contractual agreements and change orders; establishing governance structures with key vendors to monitor KPIs and manage escalations; partnering with finance on monthly accruals and financial planning; and identifying operational improvements and efficiencies.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of clinical vendor management and/or clinical financial management experience, with sponsor-side background strongly preferred. Required expertise spans vendor oversight, alliance management, RFP processes, contract development, and performance management. You'll work cross-functionally with clinical operations, finance, legal, quality, and systems teams. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, along with hands-on financial analytics experience in clinical development phase activities. The role demands effective negotiation, project management, creative problem-solving, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced biotech environment while managing multiple concurrent projects with meticulous attention to detail.
