Salary: USD 140,000 - 172,667 / annual
Lila Sciences is seeking a Senior Manager, Capacity Planning to lead the company's transition from research into commercial-scale operations. You will own the end-to-end capacity planning processes, models, and cross-functional rhythms that translate commercial demand and partnerships into operational capacity required to deliver profitably.
In this highly cross-functional role positioned at the intersection of Finance, Product, Commercial, AI, and Experimental teams, you will serve as the primary point of contact for capacity and resourcing across the proposal pipeline, establish the authoritative source of truth for capacity commitments, and design systems to scale Lila's AI Science Factories.
Key responsibilities include: building and executing capacity planning processes for every commercial proposal and scientific capability; translating demand forecasts into resource, staffing, and capacity plans while identifying bottlenecks; maintaining the authoritative record of capacity commitments; defining standard units of measure and workflow-to-demand mappings that integrate Operations, Scientific, Commercial, and Financial data into an Integrated Business Plan; designing and building toolsets for Integrated Business Planning; partnering with Product and deal teams to embed capacity assessment early in strategy; and distilling complex operational data into clear recommendations for audiences from individual scientists to executive leadership.
You will need 6-8+ years of experience in strategic finance, business operations, revenue operations, or operations. Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing planning tools, systems, or processes is essential. You should have proven ability to integrate AI tools to redesign workflows and drive measurable impact, and the ability to learn technical, scientific, or equipment landscapes quickly. Experience defining data models or planning frameworks from first principles, including units of measure and standard definitions, is required. You must demonstrate strong cross-functional stakeholder management across multiple disciplines with ownership mindset. A Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, operations, or a related technical field is required.
Bonus qualifications include experience standing up a capacity or resource planning function from scratch, exposure to deep-tech, biotech, life sciences, or AI/platform businesses, and familiarity with building repeatable processes alongside highly technical teams.
