Salary: GBP 49,000 - 60,000 / annual
Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform connecting people with Taskers for everyday home services like furniture assembly, handyman work, and moving help. The Globalization team sits within Product and ensures the Taskrabbit experience is fully localized and culturally resonant across international markets including Canada, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
You will join as Senior Localization Specialist with dedicated expertise on the Italian locale. You will balance global localization project management across all markets with full ownership of Italian language and cultural adaptation. You will serve as the cultural bridge between the global product and Italian market, ensuring the brand feels authentically Italian while collaborating with the wider Italian team to execute strategy.
Key responsibilities include: managing global localization workflows on Smartling across all markets with dedicated in-house oversight for Italian; orchestrating work with translation agencies and building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders; developing and maintaining reference materials (glossaries, style guides, multilingual guidelines) for linguists; performing quality assurance checks on communications, resources, and UX; adapting and reviewing content directly on the TMS; testing and assessing AI-driven workflows to scale operations while maintaining quality; conducting comprehensive localization audits of the full user journey; and project managing cross-functional international initiatives across remote teams and time zones.
You will also contribute creatively to content development by writing original copy and serve as an internal consultant providing expert guidance on cultural nuances and globalization best practices across all territories.
The role is based in London with hybrid working (2 days per week in Central London office, Soho). Candidates must have existing right to work in the UK.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Italian localization expert
- Minimum 5 years hands-on localization experience with strong background in translation, linguistics, transcreation, content creation, QA, and cultural adaptation
- Passion for language, communication, and storytelling
- Excellent communication and organization skills; capable of working in fast-paced environment as part of hybrid international team
- Solid understanding of CAT tools, including familiarity with MT and AI-driven workflows
- Demonstrated ability to move from reactive translation management to proactive global strategy
- Experienced project manager capable of working cross-functionally, managing expectations, understanding priorities, and delivering on time
- Seasoned specialist understanding different content types: Marketing, Product, Engineering, Customer Support, Partnerships, etc.
- Forensic attention to detail and strong curiosity
