New Relic is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for the EMEA region to join its collaborative legal team. This role sits at the center of deal execution and go-to-market strategy, with direct visibility into revenue-driving activities and genuine autonomy to shape your career trajectory within a globally dispersed organization.
You will be responsible for structuring and closing complex SaaS agreements, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts with particular focus on data processing addenda and security terms in support of EMEA sales efforts. You will coach and advise regional sales teams on deal structure, negotiation tactics, and customer dispute resolution to accelerate sales velocity.
A key part of this role involves scaling channel partnerships by working closely with Partner business teams to structure, negotiate, and expand business through resellers, MSPs, distributors, and global system integrators. You will lead privacy and regulatory strategy by collaborating with Privacy Legal to embed practical risk-tolerance strategies and standardize commercial contract responses under global privacy regimes such as GDPR and DORA.
You will own, refine, and modernize SaaS agreement templates, negotiation playbooks, and contract escalation workflows to ensure legal scales alongside business growth. As a trusted advisor, you will provide pragmatic, risk-aware legal guidance across cross-functional partners including Marketing, Product, Finance, and Contract Managers, aligning legal strategy with consumption-based models, monetization, and product-led growth goals.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Substantial experience drafting and negotiating complex SaaS commercial contracts, partner frameworks, and cloud technology agreements with solid knowledge of revenue recognition principles
- Qualified to practice law and in good standing with relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., Solicitors Regulation Authority or equivalent) in jurisdiction of residence
- Solid hands-on knowledge of data privacy, artificial intelligence, security topics, and global compliance frameworks within commercial SaaS transactions
- Proactive, strategic approach to working directly alongside enterprise sales teams to drive deal execution across EMEA region
- Proven ability to manage competing deliverables, set clear boundaries, prioritize under deadlines, and operate independently in fast-paced environment
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with track record of building trust across functions, regions, and executive levels
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- In-house legal experience
- Familiarity with consumption-based SaaS models
- Direct experience handling GSI/Reseller partner agreements and advising marketing teams
- Eagerness to leverage AI with deep understanding of AI products, LLMs, and product lifecycle
- Privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E) or deep familiarity with EU AI Act and DORA
