Nexthop AI is building innovative infrastructure solutions for large-scale AI deployments, combining deep expertise in hardware, software, silicon, systems, and cloud development. The company is seeking a Senior Lab Administrator to operate and scale physical lab and data center environments supporting multiple engineering teams. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with independent ownership of lab operations across on-premise and colocation spaces. You will coordinate complex hardware deployments, maintain infrastructure records, and drive process improvements across the lab team. Key responsibilities include: - Own day-to-day operations and readiness for assigned onsite and offsite lab/data center spaces - Coordinate hardware deployments, equipment moves, and bring-up activities with engineering and operations stakeholders - Manage physical infrastructure lifecycle including equipment, cabling, power, connectivity, and environmental readiness - Maintain inventory, rack elevations, and operational procedures - Identify operational risks and readiness gaps, driving issues to closure - Establish and improve standards for lab safety, organization, access, cabling, inventory control, documentation, and change management - Partner with engineering, IT, logistics, facilities, operations, and vendors - Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior lab administrators Required qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in lab operations, data center support (on-premise and colocation), IT infrastructure, or related technical environments - Demonstrated ability to independently manage lab operations and infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders - Hands-on experience with rack-and-stack, hardware installation, power connections, structured copper and fiber cabling - Experience creating and maintaining rack elevations and topology diagrams - Expertise in fiber optic handling and cable management with attention to industry best practices - Ability to troubleshoot physical readiness, connectivity, cabling, and hardware deployment issues methodically and safely - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-moving environments - Ability to coordinate across engineering, IT, logistics, facilities, and external vendors - Ability to improve processes, establish repeatable standards, and communicate operational expectations - Comfortable with physical work including lifting and moving lab equipment
