Charles IT is seeking a Senior IT Project Engineer to join their Projects Team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on delivering successful client outcomes through leading and executing complex infrastructure projects from kickoff through post-implementation support.
Key responsibilities include leading technical project delivery for clients, participating in project kickoff meetings to align on scope and timelines, completing assigned tasks per client Statements of Work, and providing post go-live support to stabilize and optimize environments. You'll collaborate with third-party vendors and co-managed teams, maintain thorough documentation of systems and processes, and communicate proactively with clients and internal teams about changes and project impacts. The role requires weekly status updates, participation in check-in meetings, and daily time tracking in ConnectWise.
Project scope includes hypervisor replacements and migrations (Hyper-V, VMware), email platform migrations to Microsoft 365, server builds and upgrades, network infrastructure upgrades and overhauls, office IT build-outs for new locations, and business application deployments (CRM, ERP systems).
Required qualifications include 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience. Certifications such as MCSA, VCP, or CCNA are preferred. Experience with ConnectWise, Cisco, Meraki, Datto, VMware, and Office 365 is valuable. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The ideal candidate is self-driven, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
