As a Senior IT Operations Engineer, you will elevate IT support and system management to world-class standards while strategizing on IT infrastructure, scalability, security, and performance for a distributed global workforce.
You will lead by example in system administration across SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Notion, Slack, Okta) and macOS endpoint management. Key responsibilities include mentoring junior team members, driving IT infrastructure initiatives, and acting as a key decision-maker in tool selection and implementation. You'll also assist with the rollout and governance of AI tools across the business, including Claude for Work seat management and Notion AI agents.
Your strategic focus areas include implementing advanced IT solutions to enhance end-user support, leading projects to improve the SaaS and AI tool estate, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align IT operations with company objectives, and supporting audits and access reviews for SaaS and AI tools to track usage and optimize spend.
You bring proven experience in senior IT operations roles with a track record of improving IT infrastructure and end-user support. You have hands-on experience with enterprise AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar), including seat management, access control, and usage review. Expert knowledge of macOS environments, SaaS platform administration, and security compliance is essential. Strong leadership skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are required. Experience in remote work environments is highly valued.
This role reports to the Director of IT and is part of the IT Operations team. It represents a gateway to higher leadership positions within Remote's IT department, offering opportunities to shape IT operations direction, influence company-wide technology decisions, and mentor the next generation of IT professionals.
