SingleStore is seeking a Senior IT Operations Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of IT infrastructure and tooling for a growing venture-backed database company. This is a hands-on role based in the San Francisco office, responsible for planning and developing key technical areas including end-user support, endpoint security, infrastructure application support, and client engineering.
You will administer and optimize a suite of SaaS applications including Google Workspace, Okta (with Workflows), Slack, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), and mobile device management platforms like Kandji. A core responsibility is eliminating manual work through automation, integrations, and tooling—using command-line tools like GAM for bulk Google Workspace management, workflow automation platforms, and scripting where appropriate.
Key responsibilities include: architecting and maintaining systems for multi-OS environments (macOS, Linux, Windows); designing hardware and software solutions for distributed teams; executing new hire onboarding and offboarding processes; responding to Tier 3 support tickets; mentoring junior engineers on troubleshooting and complex issue resolution; and collaborating across business units to evaluate and implement technology solutions.
Required experience includes hands-on administration of Google Workspace, Okta with Workflows, Slack, and Jira; proficiency with bulk management tools (GAM or equivalent); Mac MDM administration (Kandji or similar); and designing systems to support heterogeneous operating systems at scale. You should have excellent communication skills, a track record of learning new technologies, and the ability to teach and mentor junior team members.
Nice-to-have skills include Juniper networking experience, conference room AV/video conferencing design, workflow automation tools, Python scripting, AWS services knowledge (Lambda, CodeBuild, DynamoDB, VPC, RDS, IAM, etc.), and relevant IT certifications or a B.S. in Information Technology or related field.
