Komodo Health is seeking a Senior IT Operations Engineer to automate and streamline IT and identity operations in a SaaS-first environment. The role focuses on eliminating manual processes across the employee lifecycle and IT service delivery. You will own the complete joiner/mover/leaver lifecycle—from HR event through full provisioning and from termination through verified deprovisioning. This automation will be built on Okta Workflows as the orchestration layer and Jira Service Management as the durable state machine, maintaining lifecycle state and audit trails. You will also own Jira Service Management's request types, routing, approvals, and SLA logic as the front door for the IT service queue. Beyond lifecycle automation, you will partner with People, Finance, Legal, and Revenue Operations teams to identify manual processes worth automating and determine whether the solution is configuration, integration, or process change. All automations are treated as products—with named owners, version control, error handling, alerting, and runbooks. Key responsibilities include: - Automating the joiner/mover/leaver lifecycle across Workday, Okta, Google Workspace, Jira Service Management, and downstream SaaS applications, with focus on closing deprovisioning gaps that create audit exposure - Designing and building automations across the identity and service stack using Okta Workflows, orchestration platforms, Google Apps Script, and Python, with proper version control and error handling - Instrumenting and automating the IT service queue in Jira Service Management: request types, routing rules, approval chains, SLA logic, and self-service deflection - Owning configuration and governance for Atlassian (Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence), Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom - Building custom API integrations where native connectors don't exist (REST, JSON, webhooks, OAuth) - Deploying AI-assisted workflows for ticket triage, knowledge retrieval, and evidence summarization with human review gates on access-granting changes - Owning SaaS and non-human identity lifecycle: intake, security review, SSO (SAML/OIDC), SCIM provisioning, license governance, and decommissioning - Managing the automation backlog, prioritizing by volume and risk, and reporting results in tickets deflected and hours returned - Producing SOC 2 and HIPAA audit evidence without fire drills Comodo Health's mission is to reduce the global burden of disease through smarter use of data. The company has built the Healthcare Map—the industry's largest and most complete view of the U.S. healthcare system—combining de-identified real-world patient data with innovative algorithms and clinical expertise. The company operates with hybrid work hubs in San Francisco, New York City, and Chicago, though this role is fully remote. The company emphasizes AI integration as foundational to all work, expecting team members to use tools like Claude, Perplexity, and Copilot as natural parts of iterating, researching, and delivering work. REQUIREMENTS: - Proven experience automating IT and identity operations in a SaaS-first environment, with specific examples of manual processes eliminated and measurable results - Hands-on administration of Okta, including Okta Workflows, lifecycle management, and SCIM provisioning - Jira and Jira Service Management administration—automation rules, request types, workflows, permission schemes, and queue design - Proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting language - Strong Google Workspace administration including GAM or the Admin SDK for scripted operations - Experience building multi-step, event-driven flows in an integration or orchestration platform (Workato, Zapier, Tray, SnapLogic, or similar), including branching logic, retries, and error handling - Comfort working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and webhooks - Experience managing code in Git with peer review - Security-conscious mindset: least privilege, secrets handling, audit logging, and understanding of automation holding admin scope as a risk surface - Experience supporting audit and compliance activities - Excellent written communication with strong bias toward documentation and knowledge sharing - Strategic and judicious use of AI, knowing which tools fit which problems and their limits NICE-TO-HAVE: - Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent) applied to identity provider or SaaS configuration - Experience with Workday as the HR system of record and its downstream integration patterns - Software license management, utilization reporting, and renewal or true-up analysis
