Turing is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to build and operate the systems that keep the company productive and secure. Headquartered in San Francisco, Turing works with frontier AI labs to generate high-quality datasets and reinforcement learning environments, and deploys agentic AI systems for Fortune 500 enterprises.
In this hands-on role, you will treat IT as an engineering discipline—automating instead of clicking, building self-service solutions instead of ticket queues, and partnering closely with security to make the secure path the easy path.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and administer the identity platform (SSO, MFA, provisioning) and integrate it across the SaaS estate, including access provisioning, deprovisioning, and periodic access reviews
- Manage the device fleet (macOS, Windows, Linux) via MDM—imaging, configuration, patching, and compliance
- Build automation for employee onboarding, offboarding, and access management to reduce manual IT toil
- Administer core SaaS tools and build automation and integrations across them via APIs and scripting
- Partner with the security team on corporate security controls, endpoint hardening, and least-privilege access
- Design self-service workflows that reduce dependency on ticket queues and manual intervention
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and endpoint issues; improve monitoring and observability
- Document systems and mentor other IT team members
You will be a trusted partner to both employees and the security team, owning key corporate systems and automating meaningful portions of the employee lifecycle within your first few months.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, systems administration, or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with identity providers (Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace) and MDM tooling
- Experience administering and integrating SaaS applications at scale
- Solid scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)
- Security-minded with experience implementing corporate security controls
- Strong troubleshooting skills and service-oriented mindset
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management
- Familiarity with zero-trust access and modern corporate security architecture
- Experience supporting fast-growing, remote-friendly workforces
- Relevant certifications
