1Password is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to join the IT Engineering — Device Infrastructure Services team. This role combines technical depth with strategic project management, focusing on enterprise endpoint management at scale. You'll drive device infrastructure initiatives from concept through delivery, leading change management processes and ensuring seamless end-user experiences across a fast-paced SaaS security environment.
Key responsibilities include leading large-scale device infrastructure projects with organization-wide impact, managing cloud-based Apple MDM platforms (Iru) with custom configuration profiles and advanced policy management, and driving IT change management initiatives related to endpoint management, software patching, and fleet operations. You'll own third-party software patching workflows that keep the fleet current with minimal disruption, approach all rollouts with strong user experience focus through thoughtful phasing and proactive communication, and contribute to designing best practices and procedures for the Device Infrastructure Services team.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of technical IT experience with 2+ years in IT engineering or systems administration focused on cloud-first endpoint management. Required skills include Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and CI/CD workflows applied to device management at enterprise scale (500+ endpoints), senior-level experience with Apple MDM platforms, hands-on experience designing and shipping automation with agentic or LLM-based components, professional-level Bash scripting, and experience implementing device trust principles including phishing-resistant authentication and conditional access at scale.
Bonus qualifications include IT change management and service management best practices (ITIL), global-level Microsoft Intune administration, PowerShell scripting, and 1Password Enterprise Password Manager administration. You'll apply AI tooling to real infrastructure problems like automated remediation and smarter alerting, build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, and be available for occasional 24/7 on-call shifts. This role reports to the Team Lead, IT Engineering.
