Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to optimize manufacturing operations across its portfolio of advanced defense systems. The role focuses on manufacturing optimization for quality, reliability, speed, and asset utilization while meeting critical customer deployment timelines.
You will own the design and optimization of production lines and manufacturing processes using data-driven approaches. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain capacity models and production ramp plans to define labor planning, capital expenditure requirements, workstation design, and identify throughput gaps
- Design facility layouts and production lines using CAD and simulation tools that meet process requirements, enable production targets, optimize resource allocation, and maximize productivity and quality
- Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing bottlenecks and high-variability issues across disciplines and stakeholder groups
- Lead production line and workstation design for both low-rate and full-rate production using Value Stream Mapping and Line Balancing techniques
- Maintain a data-driven virtual factory model as a digital reference for performance assessment
- Own manufacturing health reporting and analysis, providing critical inputs to Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Growth teams
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement
The ideal candidate demonstrates holistic ownership of operational challenges, thrives as a connector among stakeholders, and excels in fast-paced, resource-limited environments. You will work with complex mechanical and electrical assemblies, coordinate across multiple internal and external parties, and maintain focus on on-time delivery under stringent quality standards.
Required experience includes 5+ years in high-rate manufacturing environments with complex assembly production, factory and production line design expertise, material flow systems knowledge, and proficiency with digital simulation tools like Siemens Plant Simulation. Strong technical ability to read CAD data and understand diverse hardware manufacturing processes (electronics, structures, mechanical, electromechanical systems) is essential.
