Salary: USD 120,000 - 130,000 / annual

OpenGov is seeking a Senior Implementation Consultant to lead complex, end-to-end implementation projects for government clients using the OpenGov Public Service Platform—an AI and ERP solution serving over 2,000 cities, counties, state agencies, school districts, and special districts across the U.S. In this role, you will oversee implementation projects from data requirements gathering through technical platform configuration, administrator training, and go-live support. You'll serve as the primary technical advisor and trusted advisor to government officials, ensuring smooth deployments aligned with organizational objectives. You'll analyze customer requirements and pain points, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop tailored solutions that simplify and automate workflows. Key responsibilities include leading complex implementations, providing mentorship to team members, establishing best practices for data environments and customer verticals, gathering and communicating customer feedback to inform product development, and working closely with R&D and Sales to drive delivery efficiencies. You'll develop deep expertise in governmental processes across multiple states, deliver training programs, and take ownership of strategic initiatives. Required qualifications: 6–8 years in public sector, government technology, finance/accounting, utility billing, tax & revenue, budgeting, or procurement; at least 4 years in software implementation consulting with external clients; advanced knowledge of financial data analysis and governmental concepts; proficiency in customer training; advanced Excel skills (functions, v-lookup, pivot tables, reporting); strong conceptualization and design skills; proven ability to lead and mentor teams; experience in fast-paced environments; excellent communication and stakeholder influence; ability to adapt to product changes; familiarity with SaaS, APIs, or cloud technologies; and knowledge of Agile & Scrum. You should demonstrate advanced problem-solving, strong judgment and creativity, proactive and results-oriented mindset, and commitment to exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.
