Wordsmith is a legal operations platform for in-house legal teams, used by 500+ companies including Financial Times, Canva, and Sage. The company is backed by $100M from Index Ventures and General Catalyst and is building AI-powered systems to help legal teams move faster and reduce external counsel spend. You will be the first GTM Engineer at Wordsmith, reporting to the CMO. This is a hands-on senior role owning the full GTM technology stack: marketing and sales tech, website systems, and the automation and tooling that drive growth across Marketing, Sales, Partnerships, Customer Success, and Account Management. Key responsibilities include: - Auditing and owning the GTM stack (CRM, marketing automation, sales tools, website), deciding what to build, buy, or retire, and managing the tooling budget and vendor relationships. - Building and maintaining a trusted CRM data model as the single source of truth for accounts, contacts, pipeline, stages, sources, and attribution. - Connecting the GTM stack through reliable integrations across CRM, marketing automation, sales tools, website, product usage data, and enrichment via APIs, webhooks, and reverse ETL. - Owning website systems including forms, routing, tracking, personalization, and experimentation to convert earned traffic into pipeline. - Building signal-based pipeline systems: account scoring, enrichment, intent detection, product-usage signals, routing, and follow-up to help reps focus on high-probability accounts. - Developing and deploying AI agents for GTM work (account research, outreach prep, inbound qualification, meeting follow-up, renewal/expansion signals), running them in shadow mode and evaluating output before full deployment. - Ensuring system reliability, trustworthiness, and data governance to meet the standards expected by legal teams (your customers). - Running the function like a product: setting up intake, maintaining a shared backlog with GTM leaders, prioritizing by commercial impact, shipping on a regular cadence, and communicating results. Success will be measured by growth impact (website conversion, speed to lead, pipeline, expansion), manual GTM work removed and system adoption, data quality and unified definitions across GTM, and reliability of key workflows against tool spend. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years building GTM systems at a B2B software company (GTM engineering, growth engineering, technical marketing ops, RevOps, or software engineering). - Production-quality coding in Python or JavaScript and SQL; comfortable with APIs, webhooks, and AI coding tools. - Deep knowledge of CRM, marketing automation, and sales tool data models. - Experience running AI workflows or agents in production. - Commercial judgment: understanding acquisition, conversion, retention, and expansion; ability to turn ambiguous growth problems into working systems. - Clear communication with non-technical teams; ability to explain tradeoffs and drive adoption. NICE-TO-HAVE: - Website and front-end work (forms, tracking, personalization, experimentation). - Data warehouse, transformation, and reverse ETL experience. - Converting product usage data into routing, scoring, and lifecycle triggers. - Supporting multiple GTM motions (enterprise sales, ABM, partnerships, expansion). - Security and compliance experience (SOC 2, GDPR) in GTM systems.
