Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Global Supply Manager focused on machining and satellite programs at their Long Beach headquarters. This role owns all sourcing and procurement strategy, execution, and management for major satellite subcomponents, including RFQ/RFP issuance, contract negotiation, and supplier agreement management. Key responsibilities include developing sourcing and subcontracting strategies that balance program requirements with supply-chain risk mitigation; managing global supply-chain execution to ensure on-cost, on-quality, and on-time delivery of critical components; monitoring engineering design activity to guide supplier selection; and addressing commodity management across market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies. You will serve as Rocket Lab's external representative to suppliers, managing relationships, conducting performance scorecards and quarterly business reviews, and resolving disputes. You'll develop and execute mitigation plans for supplier risks, negotiate pricing on a first-principles basis to achieve best-in-class cost structures, and manage internal stakeholder communications on supply, cost, and quality matters. The role also involves identifying and implementing cost-reduction opportunities and working cross-functionally to achieve company-wide goals. Required qualifications: 5+ years in supply chain or commodity management with a Bachelor's degree (or 9+ years equivalent experience); strong negotiation skills with experience in contractual vehicles (Cost Plus, Firm Fixed Price, etc.); and experience with technical requirements of procured hardware and services, including contractual flow-downs, SOWs, and technical specification review. Preferred qualifications include an MBA or technical master's degree, aerospace/automotive/technical manufacturing experience, rapid-growth environment exposure, exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, self-motivation and learning agility, executive-level communication abilities, team orientation and multitasking capability, APICS certification, and current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
