Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Global Supply Manager for Critical Minerals (Germanium) to lead end-to-end sourcing and supply chain strategy for germanium, a strategic critical mineral essential to Rocket Lab's rockets and satellites. Based at Rocket Lab's Long Beach headquarters, you will serve as the domain expert and single leader for germanium, owning the global mandate from market intelligence and supply chain mapping through supplier relationship management, contracting, and stockpiling strategy.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing commodity strategy with explicit focus on supply chain resilience and geopolitical risk mitigation; maintaining expert-level market intelligence on pricing, disruptions, and geopolitical signals; conducting market research and staying ahead of industry trends; hosting cross-functional strategy reviews and executive briefings; developing sourcing strategies aligned with program goals for cost, quality, and delivery; leading RFI/RFQ/RFP processes across miners, refiners, processors, and component suppliers; negotiating key agreements on offtake, pricing, capacity reservations, and payment terms; evaluating strategic interventions such as stockpiling, prepayments, joint ventures, and equity investments in partnership with Corporate Development and Finance; building and maintaining strong supplier relationships from initial contact through contract execution and ongoing performance management; building trusted relationships with industry associations and U.S./allied government bodies (DoD, DPA Title III, DLA, DOE); and driving continuous improvement in supplier performance through metrics and scorecards.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, legal, and finance teams to ensure seamless material flow and program success. The role requires deep expertise in navigating concentrated, geopolitically sensitive supply chains and the ability to represent Rocket Lab externally as the germanium commodity expert.
