Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Global Sourcing Manager for Raw Metals to serve as the domain expert for metals commodities. This is a strategic, high-impact role responsible for securing critical raw materials (stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.) that power Anduril's advanced defense systems.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing commodity strategies focused on cost reduction, technology development, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience. You will have end-to-end ownership of delivering quality materials at the right cost, aggregating raw metals usage across all business units to develop company-wide sourcing strategies. The role involves leading RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring continuity of supply while managing risk and negotiating favorable terms.
You will partner closely with engineering teams and suppliers to influence technical design specifications and customize manufacturing requirements. This includes performing detailed total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) analysis on quote submissions, working with cross-functional teams on prototype requirements and build milestones, and influencing supplier manufacturing processes and technology decisions. The position requires negotiating key agreements, managing supplier performance metrics (delivery, quality, cost, innovation), and conducting regular commodity reviews to executive staff.
The role demands strong technical direction within specific commodities, evaluating and guiding product strategy throughout the lifecycle. You will develop and execute commercial agreements reflecting project expectations, including fixed/variable costs, lead-times, schedules, and manufacturing capacities. This is a proactive position requiring collaboration across engineering, operations, and executive teams to advance new supplier and product offerings.
Required: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field; 5+ years in supply chain commodity management of raw metals and/or sourcing engineering; ability to travel up to 50%; willingness to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA for on-site work.
Preferred: Mechanical or metallurgical/materials engineering background; experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries; expertise in TCO analysis; strategic thinking on commodities strategy; proven cross-functional leadership; ability to obtain and maintain U.S. TS/SCI clearance.
