Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Senior Global Sourcing Manager for Composites (Raw Materials) based in Costa Mesa, California. This is a strategic, high-impact role responsible for sourcing critical composite materials and components that power Anduril's advanced defense systems.
You will serve as the domain expert for composites commodities, developing and executing comprehensive sourcing strategies focused on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and execute commodity strategies for composite raw materials (fibers, resins, epoxy, etc.), balancing cost, quality, and supply chain resilience
• Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including RFI/RFQ/RFP for composites and raw materials
• Own business relationships with contract manufacturers, managing continuity of supply, risk, cost negotiations, and new product introduction through mass production
• Partner with engineering teams to influence technical design specifications and customize manufacturing requirements
• Conduct detailed total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) analysis on supplier quotes, diving deep into supply chain elements to make data-driven decisions
• Negotiate strategic agreements with suppliers on pricing, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
• Manage supplier performance across key metrics: delivery, quality, cost, and innovation
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support prototype requirements, build milestones, and new supplier/product offerings
• Conduct regular technology reviews to executive staff
• Act as primary escalation point for composites commodities
You will influence contract manufacturers' processes, CapEx decisions, and technology choices while managing the operational development of new and adapted technologies for Anduril's products.
Required: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or related technical field; 8+ years in supply chain commodity management of composites manufacturing and/or sourcing engineering; ability to travel up to 50%; willingness to relocate to Costa Mesa if not already local.
Preferred: Mechanical or materials engineering background; experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries; expertise in TCO analysis; strategic commodity planning experience; proven cross-functional leadership and influence; ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret clearance.
