Matterless Studios is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to serve as the primary architect and developer responsible for evaluating, redesigning, and implementing both backend and frontend systems. You will design robust APIs, build responsive and interactive UI using React and React Native, and ensure end-to-end integration across client applications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluate and optimize current backend systems to identify scalability and performance bottlenecks; assess frontend performance to ensure seamless user experience across client applications
- Create and maintain RESTful APIs and server-side events to support client applications with seamless frontend integration
- Design and implement responsive, user-friendly frontend interfaces using React and React Native, ensuring consistency with UI/UX designs and optimal performance across devices
- Ensure efficient data retrieval and processing for large datasets through backend database optimizations and frontend data rendering to reduce latency
- Apply authentication, role-based access control, and data protection best practices across both backend and frontend systems
- Connect backend services with external customer systems and third-party APIs, ensuring end-to-end functionality
- Debug and optimize workflows for both backend performance (server response times) and frontend rendering (page load speeds)
- Make key architectural decisions for backend and frontend development, setting a foundation for scalable and maintainable systems
- Collaborate closely with designers to translate UI/UX wireframes into functional frontend components, ensuring accessibility and cross-browser compatibility
- Review and provide feedback on both backend and frontend code to maintain quality, consistency, and best practices
- Develop interactive features such as real-time updates and dynamic forms to improve user engagement
This role requires an independent and strategic thinker who can make long-term decisions about code, technology structure, and user-facing functionality. You will shape the technical direction of the fullstack architecture and collaborate with designers and other engineers.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Lead Backend Engineer or Senior Backend Engineer in a result-oriented and strong engineering team
- Proficiency in Golang (most of the backend is written in Go)
- Experience with Rust or C++ (used to build new decentralized peer-to-peer services)
- Strong software architecture skills and knowledge of design patterns (MVC, MVCS, SOLID)
- Ability to think ahead and create modular, decoupled designs that facilitate collaboration, iteration, and growth
- Experience building services capable of serving tens of thousands to millions of concurrent users
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL), caches (Redis), and message queues
- Well-proven knowledge of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, QUIC, WebSockets, WebTransport)
- Experience building asynchronous real-time services (preferred)
- Experience with networking libraries such as libp2p and ZeroMQ (preferred)
