Nivoda is a digital marketplace operating system for the global jewellery industry, connecting diamond and gemstone suppliers with retailers across 70+ countries. The company powers over $300M in annual transactions within a $350B+ global industry and is still in early growth stages.
You'll join the Growth Pod, a small, high-ownership team responsible for the entire customer journey from discovery through activation and retention: sign-up, onboarding, verification, activation, and ongoing engagement. This team works closely with Product, Data, and Risk, moving fast and expecting engineers to bring judgment and ownership, not just code.
In this Senior Full Stack Engineer role, you'll own both backend systems and frontend experiences that convert new sign-ups into active, paying customers. You'll build and ship React/Next.js interfaces for sign-up, onboarding, verification, discovery, and checkout flows. On the backend, you'll design and evolve TypeScript/Node.js services that power the funnel, including event-driven, workflow-orchestrated systems that continuously evaluate account state (activation, slipping, winback, lapsed, churned) and trigger appropriate actions automatically.
Key responsibilities include: building customer-facing React/Next.js interfaces and owning frontend performance, accessibility, and analytics instrumentation; designing backend services for onboarding, verification, and activation; integrating with third-party identity verification, KYB/KYC, and fraud/risk providers; designing and running proper experiments with guardrail metrics; writing SQL and working directly in Snowflake to diagnose funnel problems; and using AI agents to accelerate development while maintaining critical judgment over AI-generated output, especially for credit, payment, and verification logic.
The tech stack includes React/Next.js frontend, TypeScript/Node.js backend with GraphQL API gateway, Nx monorepo, PostgreSQL (OLTP) and Snowflake (analytics), OpenSearch, Spark/EMR/Glue, Jenkins/GitOps, AWS infrastructure, Keycloak/Okta for auth, Segment/Mixpanel for analytics, and Grafana for observability.
You'll work on problems spanning sign-up/onboarding, discovery, and checkout—end-to-end ownership from the screen a new jeweller sees to the data that tells you whether it worked. This is a high-growth environment where you'll tackle problems without established playbooks and help define solutions, not just execute briefs.
**Requirements:**
- 4–7 years of experience
- Strong full stack product engineering with real ownership of customer-facing, production features from UI to service
- Deep experience with React/TypeScript and modern frontend practices (state management, performance, accessibility, testing)
- Genuine experimentation rigor: proper experiment design, understanding of guardrail metrics, ability to distinguish signal from noise
- Experience with or appetite for workflow orchestration (workflow engines or event pipelines that evaluate state and trigger actions)
- Strong SQL and warehouse fluency (Snowflake or similar); confidence doing your own cohort and funnel analysis
- Comfort using AI agents to build, test, and draft analytical work, paired with judgment to catch subtle errors in AI output
- High tolerance for ambiguity; energized by problems without established playbooks
- Practical fluency evaluating AI-generated output (copy, messaging, root-cause suggestions) before shipping
**Nice to Have:**
- Direct experience integrating identity verification, KYB/KYC, or fraud/risk providers
- Fintech-adjacent experience handling credit, payment, or sensitive financial data
- Experience in high-growth marketplace or fintech with similar account lifecycle complexity
- Familiarity with workflow/orchestration tools (Temporal, AWS Step Functions, Kafka)
