The Low Carbon Tech team is installing EV Chargers, Solar, Batteries, and Heat Pumps into homes to drive the energy transition at pace. They are building a new, dedicated engineering and product team to completely reimagine the customer journey for low carbon tech installations—making it fast, transparent, and predictable from day one. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer (frontend focus), you will: • Serve as a bridge across the entire stack, building end-to-end capabilities while helping frontend and backend developers grow their skills • Take full ownership of features end-to-end, delivering reliable, production-ready code with significant autonomy • Shape the architecture of brand-new projects from scratch and refactor existing codebases • Maintain high frontend standards in AI-assisted workflows by vetting AI outputs, catching edge cases, and protecting long-term code health • Communicate technical ideas clearly, prioritizing high-signal context • Keep releases smooth with automated CI/CD workflows and set up production monitoring • Work closely with product managers and designers to find efficient paths to ship value Octopus embraces flat hierarchies and an open, agile culture that fosters innovation, flexibility, and creativity. REQUIREMENTS: • 5+ years of experience with the required stack (React, TypeScript, Next.js on Vercel, Python/Django, testing infrastructure including Playwright/vitest/MSW, observability tools like Datadog/Sentry, CI tools like Github/CircleCI) • Experience taking problems rather than strict guidelines and developing strong solutions • Confidence owning the full development cycle: request, requirements gathering, technical proposal, execution, deployment, and monitoring • Ability to tackle large-scale tasks individually • Empathetic approach to delegating work and collaborating with others • Ability to develop websites meeting strong accessibility guidelines • Experience building scalable, performant sites handling high traffic • Eagerness to drive cross-functional work spanning frontend, backend, DevOps, and infrastructure • Pragmatic AI mindset with experience in AI workflows and tooling: building harnesses, custom agent skills, MCP integrations, token minimization strategies • Desirable: energy domain knowledge • Desirable: GraphQL with Tanstack Query, PostgreSQL, Celery, asynchronous background processing
