Develop Health is using AI to accelerate access to life-saving medications by automating complex healthcare processes like benefit verification and prior authorization. The company has already helped over 2.5 million patients and is scaling rapidly after a major funding round, partnering with major pharmacy benefit managers and payers.
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will take ambiguous, high-impact healthcare problems and ship simple products that solve them end-to-end. You'll work across the entire stack: Python services and APIs, TypeScript and React interfaces, integrations, and AI-powered workflows. The role spans problem definition, implementation, launch, and production validation, working directly with Product, AI, and Operations teams.
In your first 3–6 months, you'll work with users and stakeholders to define meaningful problems and smallest useful solutions. You'll ship full-stack product features across backend services, user interfaces, data models, integrations, and workflow infrastructure. You'll integrate AI capabilities where they improve workflows while maintaining the reliability and fallbacks required for production healthcare software. You'll make pragmatic product and technical trade-offs and build testing, observability, rollout safety, and user feedback into your work.
Beyond 6 months, you'll own major product surfaces and the customer or operational outcomes they support. You'll shape product direction using customer evidence, operational data, and technical constraints. You'll scale the architecture and API layer as products, integrations, and transaction volume grow. You'll raise the team's bar for product shaping and engineering quality, and mentor other engineers.
You'll use coding agents to investigate systems and accelerate implementation while retaining ownership of product behavior, technical decisions, testing, and production outcomes. The team includes founders and engineers who previously launched and exited successful healthcare startups including Rupa Health and Canvas Medical.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 3 years of production full-stack experience building and shipping software that real users depend on
- Strong engineering fundamentals: effective in Python and a modern typed frontend stack, able to ramp quickly on TypeScript and React
- End-to-end product ownership mindset: comfortable starting with ambiguous problems, working with users to shape solutions, and carrying through implementation and measured results
- User-facing craft: care about whether complex workflows feel clear and trustworthy, as well as technical soundness
- AI-native execution: coding agents materially change how you investigate and build, and you verify their output rather than delegating judgment
- Clear communication with engineers, product partners, operators, and customers
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience building AI-powered or automation-heavy products in production
- Experience with healthcare, clinical workflows, EHRs, payers, pharmacies, or another regulated domain
- Early-stage startup experience or evidence of thriving with high ownership and limited structure
- Experience building workflow products, data-heavy interfaces, or third-party integrations
