Salary: USD 155,000 - 225,000 / annual

True Anomaly is building autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to enable U.S. and Allied space superiority and counter threats from the space domain. As a Senior Flight Software Engineer, you will participate in all phases of spacecraft program development—design, analysis, manufacturing, test, and flight operations. The role emphasizes innovation and speed, offering the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and integrate flight software for spacecraft on-board computers and processing units, including design, development, integration, and testing - Integrate complex GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) algorithms with flight software - Define and maintain the Command Telemetry Database (CDTB) for ground and on-orbit test and mission operations - Collaborate with the ground Command & Control (C2) software team - Assist with command scripting and sequencing of spacecraft operations - Design and implement satellite subsystem model simulators for HITL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and SITL (Software-in-the-Loop) environments - Develop reusable device drivers, interfaces, and communications protocol libraries for flight hardware Work Location: On-site in Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA. This is not a remote role. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field - 6+ years of experience with low-level firmware architecture, design, and development - Experience with low-level device driver development and safety-critical systems - Experience with embedded RTOS such as RTLinux or Azure RTOS - Familiarity with common protocols including Ethernet, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS422, RS485, and similar - Proficiency in C/C++ and Python - U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent resident status, or eligible to obtain required ITAR authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
