Salary: USD 113,943 - 139,263 / annual

Clear Labs is a genomics company that uses next-generation sequencing (NGS), robotics, and cloud-based analytics to simplify complex diagnostics for clinical and applied markets. The company's turnkey platform accelerates outcomes and improves accuracy across applications ranging from food-borne pathogens to infectious diseases. The Senior Field Service Engineer will support both in-house and field-installed robotic systems for proactive and reactive maintenance activities. This role operates with significant independence and minimal supervision, requiring strong technical expertise and customer relationship skills. Key responsibilities include: - Installing new equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and executing emergency repairs on robotic systems at Clear Labs headquarters and customer sites worldwide - Training customers on basic system maintenance and usage - Building customer confidence through professional communication and technical competence - Providing feedback to internal teams to identify failure points and drive system reliability improvements - Supporting the Field Applications team to maximize equipment uptime and responsiveness - Participating in quality process improvement initiatives - Managing logistics activities to ensure timely product shipment and optimal inventory levels - Supporting special projects in collaboration with other departments and OEM partners - Coordinating with sales and evaluation teams to support financial targets - Managing instrument sub-component configuration and spare parts inventory - Maintaining a professional image with customers, clients, and vendors The role requires significant travel (25–75% per month, including international and weekend travel) with little advance notice to support customer operations. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred - Hands-on field service experience in biotech, life science, or robotics, including work in customer laboratories with proper biohazard safety precautions - Strong troubleshooting skills in general electronics, electromechanical systems, robotics, liquid handlers, computers, and networking components - Excellent communication skills and ability to manage customer expectations while delivering outstanding customer service - Working knowledge of technical support activities to achieve world-class customer experience - Current or previous expertise with Excel (required) - Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move approximately 80 lbs. on an infrequent basis - Availability for after-hours on-call support on a rotating basis
