Salary: USD 140,000 - 180,000 / annual
Oklo is seeking a Senior Facilities Manager to lead facility operations across offices, laboratories, warehouses, test facilities, and other non-reactor spaces. This is a hands-on individual contributor role responsible for managing day-to-day facility needs, projects, vendors, and requests while establishing consistent company-wide practices.
The Senior Facilities Manager will maintain visibility across Oklo's facilities portfolio, identify capacity and infrastructure needs, and coordinate expansions, moves, and new locations. The role focuses on non-reactor corporate and operational facilities, separate from Aurora powerhouse development and construction.
Key responsibilities include:
**Facilities Portfolio & Real Estate**: Maintain an accurate portfolio of facility use, capacity, constraints, lease terms, and costs. Establish intake and decision processes for new space, expansions, and modifications. Translate business needs into facility plans and support site searches, due diligence, lease activity, and landlord relationships in collaboration with Legal and Finance. Assess various leasing options and solutions across geographies.
**Facility Operations & Projects**: Serve as primary contact for facility needs and coordinate resolution through local teams, vendors, contractors, and landlords. Support maintenance, repairs, utilities, inspections, service contracts, and workplace needs. Manage facility openings, moves, and tenant improvements. Coordinate insurance, IT, cybersecurity, security, EHS, quality, and operational requirements throughout each facility's lifecycle. Establish standards for preventive maintenance, emergency procedures, compliance, and service levels.
**Business Management & Cross-Functional Coordination**: Own facilities processes, tools, records, standards, and performance measures. Develop operating and capital plans and manage budgets, forecasts, contracts, and service providers. Identify risks and recommend practical solutions. Monitor workload and recommend additional staffing when justified.
**Receiving, Storage & Logistics Support**: Partner with Procurement, Engineering, and site teams to support receiving, storage, material handling, and shipping. Coordinate with Quality, EHS, and Security on requirements for controlled, hazardous, sensitive, or high-value materials. Help resolve facility issues affecting material flow and storage capacity.
Oklo is developing advanced fission power plants for clean energy, fuel recycling technologies, and critical radioisotopes. The company was the first to receive a site use permit from the U.S. Department of Energy for a commercial advanced fission plant and submitted the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Travel requirements: Remote employees must travel to Santa Clara headquarters twice quarterly for team meetings, off-sites, and company events. First two weeks of onboarding are in-person at headquarters.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of experience in facilities, workplace operations, construction management, industrial operations, warehousing, logistics, or related function
- Experience supporting a multi-site portfolio including laboratories, warehouses, test facilities, light industrial space, or advanced manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with facility operations, vendors, maintenance, moves, tenant improvements, leases, landlords, and service contracts
- Experience managing budgets, capital plans, forecasts, and facility/space decisions
- Ability to establish scalable practices, work across functions, communicate with executives, and operate effectively in changing conditions
- Ability and willingness to travel among Oklo facilities and prospective locations
**Bonus Qualifications:**
- Experience in nuclear, aerospace, energy, advanced manufacturing, research laboratories, defense, semiconductor, or other regulated/technically complex industries
- Experience establishing a facilities or site-operations function in a growing organization
- Familiarity with facilities, work-order, inventory, warehouse-management, ERP, or space-planning systems
- Experience supporting controlled materials or improving receiving, inventory, storage, handling, and shipping processes
- Relevant credentials in facilities, construction, project management, safety, or supply chain
