As a Senior Engineer specializing in C++ and SQL, you will design, develop, and optimize high-performance backend services that power Commvault's platform. You'll work on scalable systems with a focus on performance, concurrency, and efficiency, designing and optimizing SQL queries and database schemas for large-scale workloads. You will drive technical design and end-to-end delivery of complex features, leverage AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to improve development productivity and code quality, and mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.
This is a senior individual contributor role with mentoring responsibilities but no direct people management. You'll contribute to a mature, publicly-traded company with a strong focus on data protection and cyber resilience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 4+ years of experience in backend software development
- Strong proficiency in C++ and SQL
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, multithreading, and system design
- Experience with Linux development and performance optimization
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills
- Security and SaaS experience strongly preferred
