Endurance Energy is building modular subsea geothermal power plants that convert thermal resources beneath the ocean into baseload power. The company is backed by top-tier VCs (Founders Fund, Felicis, First Round Capital, Point72 Ventures) and has a founding team with experience from SpaceX, Helion, Blue Origin, and Apple. They have completed multiple deep-ocean deployments and are launching a long-term demonstration project. As Senior Electrical Test Engineer, you will own the complete test systems for Endurance's subsea electronics—the racks, fixtures, interface harnesses, automation software, and procedures used to develop, qualify, and accept every subsea electrical system. This is a design-ownership role where you partner with subsystem design engineers to validate hardware across extreme environmental conditions including temperature, pressure, and accelerated stress testing. Key responsibilities include: - Own hardware test systems end-to-end: requirements, architecture, design, build, bring-up, documentation, and maintenance - Work with electrical design engineers from development start, derive test requirements from design documents, and provide design-for-test feedback - Design and build test racks, unit-under-test fixtures, interface harnesses, and breakout harnesses connecting to power, loads, instrumentation, and data acquisition through pressure-vessel bulkheads - Write automated test software for instrument control, data acquisition, sequencing, limit checking, and report generation - Plan and execute development, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns including functional, power, hipot, insulation resistance, thermal, and pressure testing in hyperbaric chambers - Write test plans and procedures, set pass/fail criteria with design engineers, execute tests, and author reports - Troubleshoot failures to component level, separate test-system faults from unit faults, and drive root cause analysis - Build scalable test capability from one-off development units to production acceptance testing, improving coverage, cycle time, and usability - Help define Endurance's test standards, lab infrastructure, and test-equipment supplier relationships The role is critical because once hardware is deployed subsea, it cannot be serviced. Your test design and execution directly determine whether systems run reliably on the seafloor. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related STEM discipline - 3+ years of experience in hardware or electronics test engineering, instrumentation, or data acquisition system design for complex hardware - Hands-on experience designing, building, and bringing up electronics test systems: racks, fixtures, interface harnesses, DAQ, power supplies, and electronic loads - Fluency with electrical lab equipment: oscilloscopes, DMMs, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, source measure units - Working knowledge of common hardware interfaces: CAN, RS-422/485, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and analog signal conditioning/conversion - Ability to read schematics and debug electronics at board and component level - Experience writing test plans, procedures, and reports, and defining pass/fail criteria with design engineers - Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with electrical, mechanical engineers, and technicians - Comfortable in fast-paced, prototype-driven environment with extended hours during critical test campaigns - Ability to work onsite in Seattle and travel to deployment sites as required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience testing hardware for subsea, marine, aerospace, or defense systems - Experience with environmental qualification testing: pressure/hyperbaric, thermal, vibration, shock - Experience with high-voltage and high-power electronics test, including safety interlocks, hipot, insulation resistance - Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test and simulation of subsystem interfaces - Experience with PLCs or industrial control hardware for test-cell automation and safety - Understanding of metrology, measurement uncertainty, and calibration practice
