Salary: USD 297,500 - 366,000 / annual
OneStream is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead multiple platform engineering teams responsible for critical capabilities including identity and access management, shared services, runtime and infrastructure platforms, observability, reliability engineering, internal developer platforms, and foundational architecture patterns.
In this role, you will be accountable for technical direction, operational excellence, delivery predictability, and talent development across the Platform Engineering organization. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, Security, CloudOps, and other engineering leaders to ensure the platform is scalable, secure-by-default, and designed for rapid product innovation.
This is a dual-level leadership position requiring you to operate at both strategic and tactical levels:
Strategic responsibilities include defining platform vision, aligning the roadmap, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring technical sustainability. You will drive the Platform Engineering strategy and roadmap aligned to business outcomes and product needs, establish and communicate platform priorities based on customer impact, risk reduction, cost efficiency, and developer productivity, and ensure high-quality platform APIs, service contracts, backward compatibility, and versioning strategies.
Tactical responsibilities include delivering reliably, improving engineering efficiency, and raising the bar on reliability, security, and quality. You will lead execution across multiple teams and programs with a focus on predictable delivery, high quality, and measurable outcomes. You will build a culture of disciplined software engineering emphasizing strong planning, clear requirements, pragmatic architecture, and effective release management.
Additional duties include partnering with Product to deliver platform capabilities in a sustainable and scalable manner while establishing clear architectural foundations, and fostering a high-performing engineering culture focused on talent development and operational excellence.
