Salary: USD 191,000 - 300,000 / annual
Ethos is a life insurance technology company transforming how life insurance is bought, sold, and underwritten. The company operates a three-sided platform serving consumers, agents, and carriers, offering instant, accessible products with no medical exams required.
You will own financial strategy and performance management for the GTM (Go-To-Market) business. As Senior Director, Finance & GTM, you will serve as a financial thought partner to leaders across Marketing, Product, and Sales, with specific focus on GTM modeling, user acquisition, profitability, and new business evaluation. You will also interface with external partners through a Corporate Development or Business Development lens to support these objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own financial planning and forecasting for the GTM business
- Drive efforts to serve new customer segments, launch new insurance products, and develop partnership offerings
- Apply business judgment and financial insights to drive decision-making related to unit economics, customer acquisition, operations, core business expansion, and new opportunities
- Improve speed and efficiency of growth by collaborating closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams
- Apply data-driven analytical approaches to influence decision-making and support leadership in evaluating strategic initiatives
- Develop and monitor critical financial performance metrics, and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders
This role offers high visibility across the executive team and requires solving complex, interesting challenges at a rapidly-scaling startup. The ideal candidate is a data-driven finance leader with deep experience in consumer unit economics and scaling GTM businesses, willing to dive deep into data and operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including:
- 4+ years in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, strategic finance, or consulting (with material CDD/Private Equity experience), OR
- 6–8+ years in Strategic Finance, FP&A, or BizOps roles at a DTC or Fintech company (with material data/financial focus)
- Deep expertise in GTM unit economics and growth efficiency metrics, including strong understanding of acquisition funnels, cohort analysis, and CLV
- Ability to operate at both strategic and highly detailed levels
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional partners
- Motivated self-starter with track record of success and proven ability to juggle multiple projects while hitting deadlines
- Stellar academic record with degree in quantitative field (Finance, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.)
- SQL knowledge preferred
- Prior experience with Corporate Development / Business Development preferred
