Crusoe is seeking a Senior Director of Development to lead the strategic execution and end-to-end lifecycle of multi-billion dollar AI data center campuses. This is an executive-level role requiring ownership of transforming raw land and power into operational, world-class infrastructure assets that power AI compute at scale. You will serve as the ultimate point of accountability for delivery, budget, and quality across massive capital investments. Responsibilities include driving the full development stack—from site selection and entitlement strategy through complex municipal negotiations to final commissioning. You'll act as Crusoe's primary representative to government officials, utility executives, and community leaders to secure critical entitlements and infrastructure partnerships. Key focus areas include advanced risk orchestration to anticipate and mitigate macroeconomic, regulatory, and technical bottlenecks; financial and contractual stewardship of complex EPC contracts and master project budgets; and collaboration with a world-class team of construction managers, engineers, and external consultants to foster high-performance execution in uncharted development territory. Required qualifications: 15+ years of progressive leadership in large-scale real estate development with a proven track record delivering industrial, life sciences, or energy infrastructure projects. Deep expertise navigating entitlements, environmental compliance (CEQA/NEPA), and complex utility interconnects. Executive presence to influence at C-suite and Board levels, as well as with public-sector stakeholders. Mastery of master scheduling, construction law, project finance structures, and engineering requirements for high-density infrastructure. Must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area. Bonus qualifications include direct data center or renewable energy sector experience, entrepreneurial background or infrastructure scaling in high-growth startups, and advanced degrees (MBA, MS in Real Estate Development, or JD). This role requires 5 days per week in-office presence in San Francisco.
