GetYourGuide is seeking a Senior Decision Scientist to join the Marketplace Integrity team, which protects the platform from fraud and abuse. You will be the key analytical partner to leadership, Product, Finance, and the broader Analytics organization, ensuring that decisions on detection, prevention, and policy are grounded in rigorous measurement and clear trade-offs.
The role spans two domains: fraud (payment and identity risk) and abuse (behavior exploiting the platform or its policies). Both are cross-domain, spanning Traveler, Supplier, Partner, and Care Operations. You will be embedded enough to build context and influence while staying anchored in Analytics to uphold standards, peer review, and company-wide metrics alignment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the analytical problems that matter most for Marketplace Integrity: define and drive the strategic fraud and abuse analytics backlog and turn it into recommendations that shape detection rules, policies, and investments.
- Build the measurement frameworks the team relies on: create and evolve metrics, models, and dashboards that make loss, false positives, friction for good users, and prevention outcomes measurable and self-serve.
- Deliver deep-dive modeling that unlocks step-change decisions: quantify the drivers and trade-offs behind fraud losses, abuse patterns, and prevention measures, including the cost of blocking legitimate travelers and suppliers.
- Be the analytical voice of Marketplace Integrity across the company: turn fraud and abuse patterns into insights Product, Payments, Finance, Supply, and Care can act on, and size the business case for prevention versus recovery.
- Champion hypothesis-driven decision-making: raise the bar on rigor, evaluation, and impact measurement so that every rule change, policy shift, and tooling investment is defensible and outcome-driven.
You will work in a hybrid setup with three days of in-office collaboration (Mon, Tue, Thu) and two days of optional at-home focus time. The role offers flexibility to work from anywhere in the world for 30 days per year.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of relevant experience interpreting data in an analytics or data science role
- Production-grade SQL and strong working knowledge of Python (notebooks, modeling, analysis workflows)
- Experience with experimentation (statistics, assumptions, and evaluation)
- Strong statistical background and proficiency with advanced statistical methods (causal inference, difference-in-differences, regression analysis, propensity score matching)
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Jupyter Notebooks)
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to operate with senior leaders in high-context, ambiguous environments
- Proven ability to turn messy questions into structured analysis, crisp narratives, and decisions with measurable business impact
- Strong customer mindset: understanding user behavior and the "why" behind the numbers
- Excellent communication skills: ability to influence without authority and align teams around shared metrics and priorities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in fraud, trust and safety, risk, or marketplace abuse analytics, ideally within a marketplace or payments environment
- Familiarity with ETL/orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and/or big data tooling (e.g., Spark, Hive)
- Experience working in cross-functional mission setups
- Exposure to LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic), especially for operational tooling or workflow augmentation
