Jerry is building an AI-powered platform to manage all your physical assets—starting with car insurance and expanding into home, motorcycle, RV, and beyond. The company has reached 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, scaled revenue 70X, and achieved profitability in early 2024. They are now scaling toward 50M customers and a $10B valuation.
The Data Science & Analytics team is a core strategic function composed of former McKinsey, BCG, and Bain consultants who drive insights and inform decision-making across product, growth, tech, and operations. Each team member is embedded within a business unit, owning the analytical function end-to-end rather than working in isolation.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be embedded in one of Jerry's core business areas—Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships—and own the analytical function for that business unit. Your responsibilities include:
- Define the right problems: Understand what business question an analysis answers and what decision it informs. Push back on flawed questions.
- Data and insights: Define metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface insights that move your team's key metrics.
- Drive outcomes: Bring recommendations to product, growth, finance, or operations counterparts, explain what's happening and why, and propose next steps.
This is a hands-on role combining strategy with execution. You will surface analytical insights, drive decisions, and see them through end-to-end. The culture emphasizes no slides, no corporate fluff, and no unnecessary meetings—only work that materially changes the business trajectory.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company
- Strong analytical skills; ability to pull, structure, and interpret data independently
- Track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering impact
- Clear, persuasive communicator who can influence decisions at the leadership level
- First principles thinker who breaks ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses before touching data
- Comfortable with SQL or Python
- Direct communicator who can walk skeptical stakeholders through complex findings and get buy-in
- Owner mentality—acts like your name is on the door
