You will join the Data Science team as a Product Data Scientist, embedded within cross-functional product squads alongside engineers, designers, marketers, and product managers. The team operates with a strong data-driven culture, leveraging real-time analytics and self-serve tools (Looker) to empower the wider business, freeing data scientists to focus on high-impact analyses.
Monzo is expanding across multiple data science specializations including Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Fincrime, Wealth, and Core. Team allocation happens after the interview process to match your skills and aspirations with the most suitable role.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Applying expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation to understand user interactions and inform product strategy
- Guiding and enabling product teams to measure what matters; initiating and running A/B experiments to drive continuous improvement
- Collaborating with the finance team to build unified understanding of user lifetime value and how product features impact user profitability
- Liaising with engineers to ensure the right data is collected for relevant business insights
The role offers flexibility: based in the London office with openness to distributed working within the UK (with ad hoc London meetings). Flexible working hours are supported, and part-time arrangements are available when possible.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Solid grounding in SQL and preferably Python
- Experience conducting large-scale A/B experiments
- Impact-driven mindset with desire to positively influence company, product, users, and colleagues
- Commercially minded; able to translate numbers into business perspective
- Comfortable both getting hands-on and thinking strategically
- Self-starter mentality; proactively identify issues and opportunities
