Convene is a global hospitality company managing a portfolio of lifestyle brands focused on revolutionizing how people meet, work, and gather. As Senior Conference & Events Manager, you will lead all aspects of venue operations and events delivery at a London location, overseeing the Events Operations and Conference Services teams. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and meticulous attention to detail.
You will be responsible for day-to-day operations including team management, external cleaning contracts, maintenance scheduling, and health & safety compliance. You'll manage staff rotas, ensure front-of-house departments communicate effectively, and maintain the highest standards of customer service. Your focus will be on delivering seamless, memorable experiences for clients and guests while keeping operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities include: managing and directing the Events Operations and Conference Services teams; overseeing venue maintenance and cleaning contracts with monthly reviews; monitoring and improving front-of-house systems; handling client feedback and complaints professionally; achieving 90% customer satisfaction scores and 9-10 Net Promoter scores; and ensuring financial targets align with company objectives. You'll control purchase orders, manage inventory and stock rotation, and optimize labor allocation.
You must possess strong commercial and financial acumen to help run a profitable venue. Excellent client management skills are essential to maintain relationships and ensure successful events. Leadership capability is critical—you'll build and maintain teams that deliver exceptional service. The role requires flexibility given the events industry, though core operations run Monday-Friday. You'll be the go-to person for operational excellence, turning good feedback into repeat business and creating the 'wow' moments that define Convene's brand.
