Salary: USD 142,000 - 188,000 / annual
Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager for Rack Integration to lead sourcing and supplier management for a new, high-impact product segment serving the company's most prominent customers. This is a hands-on leadership role that bridges internal cross-functional teams (product management, demand planning, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, logistics) and external technology and supply chain partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategy for Rack Integration products, aligned with customer and company requirements
- Own the RFP process, proposal evaluation, supplier assessment, and selection
- Manage relationships with key Rack Integration partners and material suppliers
- Coordinate with product management, engineering, and integration partners to ensure timely delivery of prototypes and production units
- Lead capacity planning and capital expenditure rollout in partnership with NPI engineers
- Negotiate and manage cost models with suppliers, balancing hard requirements (price, volume discounts) and soft requirements (expertise, technical support) within Total Acquisition Cost and Total Opportunity Cost frameworks
- Identify and drive cost-reduction opportunities
- Lead contract negotiations for SOWs, MPAs, LTAs, and development agreements
- Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics (technology, quality, cost, delivery) through regular QBRs
- Manage supplier relationships on behalf of Arista in coordination with site supply chain leads
The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building abilities, with the capacity to simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences and drive cross-functional process improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a networking environment with mechanical commodity and material management positions
- Combined new product introduction, operations, and supplier management experience highly desirable
- Understanding of rack integration industry, component vendors ecosystem, and manufacturing processes
- Experience working and negotiating with external partners
- Experience working with sales and external customers
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate cross-site, multi-functional objectives
