The platform serves over 120,000 businesses across trucking, logistics, construction, oil & gas, food & beverage, field service, agriculture, and delivery sectors.
As Senior Commodity Manager for Electro-Mechanical components, you will own the commercial and supply strategy for four critical commodities: cable, battery, PCB, and connector. This is a high-ownership, cross-functional role embedded with design engineers from the concept phase through production.
Key responsibilities include:
**Strategy & Planning**: Build and publish sourcing strategies covering technology roadmaps, supply landscape analysis, and cost trends. Establish a Preferred Vendor List that guides engineering decisions and reduces rogue spend and design-in risk. Run quarterly deep-dives with engineering and quality teams to spot emerging technologies and qualify second sources proactively.
**Commercial Leadership**: Drive cost reduction through Total Cost of Ownership analysis. Report all numbers on a Landed Cost basis (unit price, logistics, duty, channel margin) to ensure Finance and leadership alignment. Lead RFQs for projects over $50k, backed by clean-sheet costing and should-cost modeling so you enter negotiations with clear cost targets.
**Supply Assurance**: Own supply chain end-to-end including BOM scrubs, multi-sourcing, expediting, and supplier relationships that secure allocation during tight markets. Partner with planning and operations to protect build schedules and flag risks early. Run quarterly business reviews with top suppliers against clear scorecards (on-time delivery, quality, cost, technology) and drive improvement plans.
**Engineering Partnership**: Embed with design teams at concept phase, translating technical requirements into commercial strategy and cost/lifecycle realities into designable constraints. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers while schematics are still evolving so component choices reflect both technical need and commercial reality before BOMs freeze.
You'll coordinate cross-functional responses when supply issues escalate, pulling in the right people rather than carrying problems alone. This role requires someone who thrives in high-ownership, genuinely cross-functional environments with close proximity to design and engineering work.
