Motive is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager to own the commercial strategy and supply assurance for onboard electrical components including ICs, discrete semiconductors, and connectors. This is a highly autonomous role serving as the primary interface between Engineering, Finance, contract manufacturers, and the external supply base.
You will develop and execute sourcing strategies for board electricals aligned with Motive's business objectives, managing global supplier relationships including selection, negotiations, and performance management. Key responsibilities include collaborating with engineering and product teams to influence design decisions for cost, lead time, and manufacturability; ensuring supply continuity through proactive risk management and alternative sourcing identification; analyzing market and industry trends to develop comprehensive supply chain risk mitigation plans; and driving cost optimization through should-cost models, benchmarking, and strategic negotiations.
You will serve as the commercial architect of the product roadmap, championing supply resilience and aggressive cost leadership. This requires building executive-level supplier relationships to manage critical escalations and operating with a high degree of independence.
Minimum qualifications: 7+ years in sourcing and supply chain management with focus on board electricals for consumer electronics, automotive, or related industries; Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or related field; demonstrated negotiation and contract management skills; excellent analytical abilities; experience with global supplier management and cross-functional collaboration; strong communication and stakeholder influence skills.
Preferred: proven success in driving supplier innovation and achieving significant cost reductions; knowledge of international trade compliance and tariff regulations. Candidates must be authorized to receive and access commodities and technologies controlled under U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
