Unlimited Industries is automating construction end-to-end to modernize infrastructure development and address the West's declining productivity in large-scale building. The company leverages AI to automate engineering design processes and produce construction deliverables for major capital projects like utility-scale power plants and data centers.
You will join as a Senior Civil Engineer to embed deep, practicing site-civil expertise into the product. You'll combine years of hands-on design experience—grading, earthwork, hydrology, permitting, geotechnical work—with product development, translating how excellent civil engineers think, check, and make judgment calls into automated capabilities within the AI-powered design engine. You'll set the standard for what "correct" means on every civil deliverable shipped.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on execution rather than management. You'll work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment where you challenge industry conventions and rethink traditional best practices that have remained largely frozen for 70+ years. The role requires ruthless prioritization of impact, identifying bottlenecks, and solving the most critical problems.
A significant part of this work involves translating your engineering knowledge into scalable software. You'll build calculation, analysis, and design-automation tools, leveraging recent AI coding agents (Codex, Claude Code, etc.) to assist in tool development even if you have limited prior software experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Owned significant civil engineering scopes on large-scale projects such as utility-scale power stations, data centers, launch vehicle facilities, mass-scale manufacturing operations, mining operations, or similar
- T-shaped technical excellence: broad understanding of how civil scope connects to adjacent disciplines and trade-off implications, plus deep expertise in 1-2 specific areas
- Evidence of strong first-principles thinking and willingness to challenge established industry practices
- Hands-on execution mindset; ability to speak to technical minutiae and details of your work
- Mission alignment and desire to build a future of abundance
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
BONUS:
- Experience with utility-scale natural gas power generation or solar design
- Experience building your own calculation, analysis, or design-automation tools
- Familiarity with AI coding agent tools for work or personal projects
