Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations dependent on physical operations to harness IoT data for actionable insights. You will own strategic sourcing categories end-to-end, acting as the subject matter expert across all engagements. This is a self-starter role where you build the plan, drive it to close, and operate with autonomy and urgency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the full sourcing lifecycle: strategy, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management
- Build and execute category strategies that deliver competitive advantage beyond cost savings
- Focus primarily on SaaS, consumption data tooling, and AI for internal usage across BizTech and Security
- Lead contract redlining and negotiation in a fast-paced, high-volume environment alongside legal counsel
- Proactively identify sourcing opportunities ahead of stakeholder requests
- Manage competing priorities from business owners, stakeholders, and leadership
- Align with internal stakeholders to drive win-win outcomes
- Analyze industry trends to anticipate issues and develop contingency plans
- Balance speed, quality, risk, and cost savings goals
- Operate with a bias toward action, making sound decisions with imperfect information
Minimum qualifications: 6+ years of strategic sourcing experience with 4+ years focused on software; demonstrated career progression; strong negotiation and communication skills; proven ability to forge relationships with executives, stakeholders, and suppliers; experience redlining contracts with Legal; comfort operating autonomously; ability to manage high-volume transactions in fast-paced environments; Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline preferred.
The role is open to US-based candidates except those in SF Bay Area, NYC Metro, or DC Metro areas. Fully remote or office-based.
