Salary: USD 125,000 - 150,000 / annual
Pacific Fusion, founded in 2023, is developing pulser-driven inertial fusion systems to achieve net facility gain and deliver abundant, affordable, clean energy. The company has raised over $900M and is assembling world-class scientists, engineers, and operators to address climate change and global energy demand.
As Senior Buyer, you will lead procurement efforts for components required to build the fusion demonstration system. You'll work closely with scientists and engineers across disciplines to ensure designs are sourced, assembled, and delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the full procurement process: RFPs, RFQs, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation
- Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, ensuring compliance and identifying improvement opportunities
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify suppliers meeting design requirements and company objectives
- Identifying supply chain risks and developing mitigation strategies
- Tracking KPIs, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives
- Driving continuous improvement in procurement systems and processes
You bring 5+ years of purchasing, material planning, or supply chain experience, ideally in manufacturing. You have a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent. Strong expertise in procurement processes, supplier negotiations, contract management, and supply chain software (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is essential. You're analytical, organized, and comfortable in evolving, ambiguous startup environments.
Bonus experience includes global supply management, aerospace/automotive/fusion/energy industries, Coupa platform, and startup environments.
