Socure is building identity trust infrastructure for the digital economy, verifying identities in real time and stopping fraud before it starts. The company is seeking a Senior Business Systems Engineer to own and evolve the systems supporting product planning, engineering execution, portfolio management, and cross-functional delivery.
You will serve as the technical owner and strategic partner for platforms including Jira, Aha!, and related product and project management tools. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Technical Program Management, Finance, and IT teams, you will translate business processes into scalable system configurations, integrations, workflows, and reporting capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
**Platform Ownership & Administration**: Manage configuration, administration, upgrades, permissions, security, integrations, data quality, and maintenance of Jira, Aha!, and similar platforms. Design and maintain scalable workflows, schemas, fields, templates, automations, dashboards, and reporting structures. Establish standards for platform configuration and reduce unnecessary customization and process fragmentation.
**Cross-Functional Partnership**: Work directly with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Technical Program Managers, and business leaders to understand planning and delivery needs. Translate business requirements into practical system designs. Help teams improve how initiatives, roadmaps, epics, dependencies, capacity, and milestones are represented. Facilitate working sessions to identify process gaps and drive alignment on standardized ways of working.
**Enterprise Application Integration**: Lead implementation of new product, engineering, and portfolio capabilities. Build and maintain integrations between Jira, Aha!, Confluence, GitHub/GitLab, Slack, Workday, financial systems, BI tools, and other enterprise applications using APIs, webhooks, and automation frameworks. Support data migrations, platform consolidations, and major configuration changes.
**Governance & Data Quality**: Define and enforce standards for fields, hierarchies, workflows, permissions, and naming conventions. Monitor system usage and identify inconsistent practices, stale data, and reporting gaps. Build controls that improve accuracy of roadmap, delivery, capacity, and financial reporting. Establish structured intake and prioritization processes for platform enhancement requests.
**Reporting & Visibility**: Build dashboards and reporting capabilities for leadership visibility into roadmap progress, delivery status, dependencies, risks, and capacity. Partner with Product Operations, Engineering Operations, and Finance teams to improve portfolio-level reporting. Ensure data used for executive and financial reporting is well-defined and consistently maintained.
**Platform Adoption & Support**: Provide advanced support and troubleshooting for complex platform issues. Create documentation, training materials, and guidance for Product and Engineering teams. Coach system administrators and power users on effective platform usage. Communicate platform changes clearly and build a network of business owners and power users.
Success means Product and Engineering teams have reliable, well-governed systems; platforms are configured consistently with clear ownership; roadmap and delivery data is accurate for leadership decision-making; teams spend less time reconciling information across tools; and Socure has clarity on whether current tools meet future needs.
**Requirements:**
- 7+ years of experience in business systems engineering, enterprise applications, IT applications, platform administration, or related role
- Strong hands-on experience implementing and administering Jira and related Atlassian products
- Experience supporting product management, engineering delivery, portfolio management, or enterprise work-management platforms
- Experience configuring workflows, schemas, fields, permissions, automations, dashboards, and reporting
- Strong understanding of product development and software delivery processes (roadmaps, initiatives, epics, sprints, releases, dependencies, capacity planning)
- Experience gathering requirements and translating complex business processes into scalable technical solutions
- Experience with APIs, webhooks, integrations, data migration, and enterprise application architecture
- Demonstrated ability to manage platforms through full lifecycle (implementation, maintenance, upgrades, governance, support, retirement)
- Strong project/program management capability including planning, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and change management
- Ability to work effectively with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, TPMs, Finance, IT, and executive stakeholders
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Bias toward standardization, maintainability, and simple solutions over unnecessary customization
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Hands-on experience with Aha! Roadmaps, Aha! Develop, Aha! Ideas, or similar product portfolio management platforms
- Experience with Jira Align, Productboard, Craft, Planview, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms
- Atlassian certifications or advanced Jira administration experience
- Experience integrating Jira with GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Confluence, BI tools, or product management platforms
- Experience in SaaS, fintech, identity, risk, fraud, or regulated technology environment
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, product operating models, and scaled planning practices
- Experience supporting software capitalization, engineering capacity planning, or portfolio-level reporting
- Experience evaluating and replacing enterprise platforms
- Scripting or automation experience using Python, JavaScript, Groovy, REST APIs, or low-code integration tools
